Journal of Missionary Media (JMM) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published content. To safeguard scholarly records, JMM implements a digital archiving policy as follows:

1. Digital Archiving

All published articles in JMM are archived and preserved in multiple digital repositories to ensure long-term access, even in the event that the journal is no longer published.

JMM participates in the following archiving systems (to be updated as applicable):

  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) – Ensures content is preserved in a distributed network of libraries.

  • CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) – A secure preservation network for long-term archiving.

  • Garuda (Garba Rujukan Digital) – Indonesia’s national academic repository managed by Kemdikbudristek.

  • Indonesia OneSearch – A national discovery platform integrating academic and library content.

  • Institutional Repositories – Authors are encouraged to deposit their final published articles in their university or institutional repositories.

2. Self-Archiving Policy

Authors are allowed and encouraged to deposit versions of their work in:

  • Institutional repositories

  • Subject repositories

  • Personal websites

  • Academic social networks (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu)

The version allowed for deposit is the final published version (Version of Record), with proper citation and a link to the original publication on the JMM website.

3. Preservation Strategy

To prevent the loss of content due to technical failure or other unforeseen circumstances, JMM performs regular:

  • Full backups of journal data

  • Redundant storage in secure cloud-based systems

  • Periodic testing of restoration systems
