Author Guidelines

Journal of Missionary Media (JMM) welcomes original manuscripts that align with its focus on media, education, theology, and Catholic mission. Manuscripts must be unpublished, not under review elsewhere, and demonstrate academic rigor and relevance.

All submissions must adhere to the following formatting and ethical standards. Authors are advised to read these guidelines carefully before submission.

Manuscript Format

  • Language: English or Bahasa Indonesia (with preference for English).

  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).

  • Length: 4,000–7,000 words, including references.

  • Font: Maiandra GD, size 11 pt.

  • Spacing: 1.5 line spacing

  • Margins: 2.5 cm (all sides)

  • Alignment: Justified

  • Paragraph indent: First line 1 cm

  • Page Numbers: Bottom center

Structure of the Manuscript

1. Title Page

  • Article Title (max 15 words)

  • Author(s) full name

  • Affiliation(s)

  • Email address (for all authors)

  • ORCID iD (if available)

  • Corresponding author (clearly indicated)

2. Abstract

  • 150–200 words

  • Written in English

  • Must include: background, objectives, methods, results, conclusion

3. Keywords

  • 3 to 5 keywords

  • Separated by semicolons

4. Main Body (IMRaD format preferred)

  • Introduction

  • Literature Review (optional or integrated)

  • Methodology

  • Results / Findings

  • Discussion

  • Conclusion & Recommendation

  • Acknowledgment (if applicable)

  • Conflict of Interest Statement

5. References

  • Minimum of 15 scholarly references (preferably recent, within 5 years)

  • At least 3 from Scopus-indexed journals

  • Use APA 7th edition referencing style

  • Example:

    Smith, J. A. (2022). Digital evangelization in Southeast Asia. Journal of Religious Media, 14(2), 123–137. https://doi.org/10.1234/jrm.v14i2.2022

Citation & Plagiarism Policy

  • All submitted manuscripts will undergo plagiarism screening (using Turnitin or similar tools).

  • Maximum similarity score allowed: 20%

  • Self-citations should not exceed 15%

  • Citations must be properly attributed using APA style

Peer Review Process

  • JMM applies double-blind peer review

  • Review time: approx. 4–6 weeks

  • Review outcomes:

    1. Accept without revision

    2. Accept with minor revisions

    3. Revise and resubmit

    4. Reject

Article Processing Charge (APC)

  • IDR 188,881 is charged only upon acceptance

  • Payment instructions will be sent via email

  • All articles must be original, free of plagiarism, and written in clear academic language.
