Catholic Youth Faith Militancy in West Sulawesi

Abstract
Catholics Youth are a valuable asset for the survival of the Church and the nation where the existence of the young generation is expected to be witnesses to the faith as well as agents of social transformation. Pope Francis, through the document Christus Vivit, emphasized that young people are part of the “present of the Church,” not just the future. This research aims to analyze the level of faith militancy of Catholics Youth in the Deanery of West Sulawesi through questionnaire data distributed from July to August 2024. Data includes respondent profiles, knowledge of faith, liturgical involvement, and dynamics of religious social life. The result shows that Catholics Youth have a reasonably good commitment to their faith, despite challenges in the form of interest in participating in non-Catholic worship, lack of structured spiritual assistance, and the influence of the social environment. The research results emphasize the importance of holistic pastoral strategies which include spiritual, moral, social, intellectual, leadership and creativity formation.
